Elevated concentration of nitrogenous compounds in the water poses a serious threat to the environment. In light of this issue, the Environment Protection Agency is currently conducting regulation on the total nitrogen standards in effluents of the optoelectronic and semiconductor industries. The technology to remove nitrogen from the water is thus an important issue for the environmental engineering industry. The water-borne nitrogen removal processes include nitrification and denitrification process. In terms of traditional microbiology, these two processes are opposite biochemical reactions and each has its own special reaction criteria. Currently, the industrial sector uses the traditional nitrification and denitrification processes to treat nitrogen-containing sewage, using aeration to increase dissolved oxygen in the water and promoting transformation of ammonia into nitrites and nitrates. The process then turns anaerobic to place the denitrifying bacteria into a hypoxic condition, which forces them to use nitrates as oxidizing agents to perform the denitrification process. However, the anaerobic denitrification process is long and may produce unpleasant odors. Our product contains specially screened bacteria that are highly efficient at breaking down ammonia nitrogen, which will not only reduce the concentration of ammonia nitrogen in the water within a short period, but also eliminates the odors generated from the anaerobic denitrification process. |
